NARRATIVE
BACKGROUND
The state has relaxed distancing guidelines for students from 6 feet apart to 3 feet apart except for meals, times of physical exertion, and singing. These latter activities still require the original 6 feet of distancing. The decreased distancing requirements make it possible to return students to a longer school day. Also, if Klamath County two-week new COVID case numbers go above 136, we will not be able to start grades 6-12 back in school for a full day as the distancing requirements would go back to six feet for those grades. |

NARRATIVE
BACKGROUND
The state has relaxed distancing guidelines for students from 6 feet apart to 3 feet apart except for meals, times of physical exertion, and singing. These latter activities still require the original 6 feet of distancing. The decreased distancing requirements make it possible to return students to school full time. In order to return to full-time, in-person instruction the administration is recommending a reduction of one student-contact day on April 16, 2021, for grades K-8 to allow teachers to prepare for the full-day in-person schedule and allows schools to transfer the necessary furniture to classrooms, gyms, cafeterias, etc. |
