Description:  Speakers may offer objective criticism of district operations and programs but the board will not hear complaints concerning specific district personnel.  The chair will direct the visitor to the appropriate means for board consideration and disposition of legitimate complaints involving individuals.

Description:  As part of the bus replacement rebate program.

Description:  This MOU extends the terms of the expired charter until August 31st, 2016 or the date that approval is received from ODE.  This will allow the MMS to continue to receive and expend state school fund payments from the District.

Description:  Based on the Oregon Revised Statutes for Required Instructional time, each school district shall ensure that at least 92% of all students in the district and at least 80% of all students at each school operated by the district are scheduled to receive annually the minimum hours of instruction (Grade 12 = 966 hours; Grades 9-11 = 990 hours and Grades K-8 = 900 hours). For the 2016-2017 school year, up to 14 hours for emergency school closures due to adverse weather conditions and facilities failure may be included in the district’s calculation of instruction only by approval of the local school board.

Description:  The Positive Discipline in the Classroom training is a continuation of the Trauma Informed Care work the District is currently implementing.  The State ACEs Collaboration Team has reviewed and found this training to be a 'best practices / best strategies' program and highly recommended District's to attend with teachers.

Description:  Dusty Long, CTE (Computers / ITS) teacher at The Dalles High School, is requesting to attend the DefCon Convention in Las Vegas, as part of the CTE Perkins grant requirements.  This training will help increase and update his class course planning and instruction in Cyber Security.

Description:  The Dalles High School Cross Country Team is requesting to attend a meet in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho in the Fall of 2016.  This meet will be held in Idaho on the weekend of Sept 16th, - 18th, 2016.

This change is highly recommended to reflect the change in the ORS.

Description:  The Oregon Department of Education (ODE) made an organizational decision that all civil rights complaints concerning the child nutrition program must be sent to the director of Child Nutrition Programs, and not the Civil Rights coordinator.  Changes to this AR will reflect ODE's decision.

Description:  Changes to this policy is required based on response to legal cases and conversations at a recent School Law Conference.  OSBA has revised the language reflecting the required changes.

Description:  The 2016 Legislature passed House Bill 4066 and requires Districts that choose to operate a UAS as part of the district curriculum, to adopt policies for the use, storage and accessing, and the sharing and retention of data resulting from the operation of UAS.  This legislation is effective January 1sdt, 2017.  OSBA drafted this conditionally required policy that addresses district and third party use of a UAS.  Additional information and an FAQ will be released by OSBA soon.
