Description:  The Special Session of the North Santiam School District’s Board of Directors is called to order at 5:30 pm. It is an open meeting of the Board and the public is allowed to observe, with the exception of the Executive Session under agenda item #5. Due to the gathering restrictions still in place for public schools under Gov Brown's Executive Orders 2020 & 2016, this meeting is being held remotely via Zoom (link below). Public comment may be submitted in advance at 1155 N 3rd Ave, Stayton, OR 97383 or via email to communications@nsantiam.k12.or.us.

Description:  The NSSD Community Engagement Committee has recommended that the NSSD Board of Directors acknowledge Robin Meier for her years of service as a dance team coach at Stayton High School. Robin retired at the end of this school year after coaching for 25 years (20 at SHS). The list of possible awards is included below. The CE Committee has recommended the Golden Eagle Award. 

Santiam Award ~Est. 2009
Bestowed upon staff for outstanding efforts towards the District’s mission of "Ensuring students reach their highest academic and vocational potential and develop into productive citizens". Students are also eligible for individual accomplishments in these same areas. 

Jack Adams Award~ Est. 2009
Given to North Santiam School District employees who have embraced the Guiding Principle of "Doing what is best for kids" by showing exceptional focus and achievement on improving the lives of students. 

Community Partnership Award~ Est. 2010
Presented to community members, businesses or organizations that have collaborated on a project or
worked in a coordinated effort with the school district to make a difference in the lives of students. 

Golden Eagle Award~ Est. 2010
This is the District’s highest level of recognition. It is meant to honor a significant and long-lasting contribution that exemplifies the District’s Mission, Guiding Principles and Vision and substantially improves the ability of the District to meet the needs of students.
 

Description:  The School Board will now meet in Executive Session as pursuant to ORS 192.660 (2)(i)-Performance Evaluations for the purpose of reviewing their independent scores from Superintendent Gardner's annual evaluation  Any members of the public or staff members who have joined the Zoom meeting will be removed. No official District-level decisions/motions may be made in Executive Session and when the discussion is concluded, the Board will return to open session and allow the public back into the Zoom meeting. 
 

Description:  The Board will review each member's scores and comments from the annual evaluation of the Superintendent.

Description:  The Zoom meeting will be reopened to the public.

Description:  The Board Chair will adjourn the meeting.
