3. REVIEW OF DISTRICT/BOARD GOALS
Description:
The Board will review the current 2015-18 District and Board Goals. If there are no changes, they can be continued for 2016-2019. If work needs to be done the Board Chairman may ask several board members to work on a sub-committee to make revisions or a Special Session can be set up to review more in depth.

5. CALL REGULAR SESSION TO ORDER, ROLL CALL, PLEDGE
Description:
We would like to welcome you to the Regular Session of the North Santiam School District’s Board of Directors. This is an open meeting of the Board and the public is allowed to be present to observe. On tonight’s agenda is a place for public participation. Anyone in attendance, that isn’t on the agenda and wishes to address the Board during this meeting must fill out a public participation card that is available at the door and give it to the Board Secretary, Mary Richards.

8. PUBLIC PARTICIPATION
Description:
The Board welcomes public comments on topics and concerns that affect the education of students. When stating an opinion before the Board, a statement of facts on which the opinion is based is particularly helpful. The Board is also interested in your comments for viable solutions and ways of involving others who would be affected by the offered solutions. Due to confidentiality and liability issues the Board cannot hear complaints against staff in an open session. A copy of the policy and procedures on how to file a complaint are available at the back of the room, at any school office, from the board secretary, or from the North Santiam School District web site. If there is anyone in attendance at this time, who has filled out a public participation card and wishes to address the Board, please step forward and state your name and address.

9.1. Board Recognition Month: Andy Gardner
Description:
Andy will announce that Governor Kate Brown has declared January 2016 to be School Board Recognition Month. He will thank board members for their many hours of service to the District.

9.2. SHS Choir-London Trip: Diane Allen Jackson
Description:
Diane will be in attendance to report on the recent SHS Choir Trip to London.

9.3. Stayton Elementary School: Principal, Wendy Moore
Description:
Wendy will talk about some of the things happening at SES.

Description:
Wendy will be introducing 5 students who will be given awards for academic excellence, outstanding citizenship and/or most improved. They include: Marilynn Jane Dustin, Aliyah Sanchez, Jardon Baquet, Kadence Kuiken and Malachi Schickling.

9.4.2. Stayton High School-Football: Alan Kirby and Laura Wipper
Description:
Alan will introduce Devon Garber, Everette St. Clair, and Kyle Schwarm to the Board. All three of these students were named to the all-state team-honorable mention. Kyle Schwarm was also nominated for the Statesman Journal's Courage Award for showing leadership in difficult and sensitive times.

Description:
This item is on the agenda to allow representatives of area city councils in the District an opportunity to share information on upcoming city projects, grants, or community events that the school district or board members might participate in, or need information about.

Description:

13.1. Approval of Budget Calendar: Jane Nofziger
Description:
A draft budget calendar was included in the board packet last month. If there are no other revisions, it is ready to approve. The Budget Committee members from last year will all be returning, therefore no new members need to be appointed by the Board.

Description:
Jane will go over the 2014-15 Audit with the Board. A copy will be handed out at the meeting. It is also on the District's website under Departments>Business Office>Audit. A summary of the audit is attached as part of the board packet.
