D. Notes of Appreciation
D.1) Hazel Park Jr. High Principal, Tammy Scholz and staff members would like to sincerely thank Ms. Barbara Rebbeck, Author for the 7 days she volunteered instructing and working with each of our students and ELA teachers. In addition, the 8th graders had the pleasure of reading her award wining novel, NOLA Gals. The time she volunteered to work with our students is unheard of and we are so grateful.
D.2) Dr. Michelle Krause, Supervisor of Special Education at Edison MAX, would like to thank Claire Holloway and Panasonic Automotive for the generous grant of $5000 to fund our Peer to Peer program between Edison MAX students with Autism and Hazel Park Advantage Alternative High School students. This is the second year for the program as well as the second donation by Panasonic for this program. The Peer to Peer program has been highly successful for both sets of students and allows all students to earn credit for the class. The money is used for transportation of Hazel Park Advantage Alternative HS students to and from Edison as well as supplies used during the Peer to Peer courses.
D.3) The families of John Barnett, Debbie Dimas, Sue Watts, Julie Barone and Karen Bentz acknowledges the expression of sympathy from all the Administration and the Board of Education at the time of their father's death, Mr. John A. Barnett.
D.4) Hazel Park Jr. High Principal, Tammy Scholz, would like to thank our Head Engineer, Kindra Johnsonbaugh and our evening custodians Bob Peck and Matt Combs for their dedication in keeping the junior high clean and sanitized both inside and out. They are ALWAYS willing to do whatever is asked and needed without hesitation.
D.5) Dr. Carla Postell, Director of Curriculum and her secretary, Renee' Hilla, would like to send sincere and heartfelt thanks to Rose Mary Hammonds, Cindy Locke, Rick Nagy and Kathy Nagy for all their help at Central Office to stamp books for the ELA curriculum. This was a huge job that would have taken many days to complete without their help. Because of their generous donation of their time and effort, we were able to get hundreds of books in the hands of students in a timely manner. We really appreciate you!
