6.A. Certify Proposed Property Tax Levy

Description:
BACKGROUND: Each year ISD #110 is required to approve a proposed levy to the Minnesota Department of Education and Carver County Auditor. The levy document is in its current status as of today (09 19 22) for Waconia Public Schools ISD #110. Due to the nature of the Minnesota Department of Education's programming of the levy system. It is going to be in flux until final certification. Typically, Waconia Public Schools ISD #110 certifies the proposed levy at the maximum to maintain flexibility if there are changes to the proposed levy.
RECOMMENDATION: To approve the 22 Pay 23 Property Tax Levy at the maximum.

6.C. Miscellaneous Wage Rates

Description:
The recommended increases are for Community Education Positions
Modest increases for soccer referee and umpire positions to remain competitive with surrounding communities. Increases include a $10 - $25 per game increase depending on the level. Community Education fees will be adjusted where needed to accommodate these increases. These proposed increases will assist our school district in becoming more competitive with our surrounding communities. The estimated financial impact for the proposed increases detailed above should not impact their budget, as the participant fees have been raised to cover the increase. RECOMMENDATION: It is recommended that the Board of Education approve the attached Miscellaneous Wage Rates effective October 1, 2022

6.D. Snow Removal Vendor Selection

Description:
BACKGROUND: Waconia Public Schools ISD #110 went out for a request for proposal for snow removal concerning our district property. A total of three bids came back to the district. The bidders were Snow Removal Group, Curfman Trucking & Repair, Vinge Outdoor Solutions. During the process, these vendor’s bids were brought to the finance and facilities committee to seek recommendationbasede on what is best for Waconia Public Schools ISD #110 in terms of vendor experience, references/reputation, fixed pricing, and increase controls through the life of the agreement including competitive pricing for various snowfall assumptions. After carefully reviewing the proposed options, the District recommends the selection of Curfman Trucking & Repair proposal based on timeline requirements and prior experience with the lowest overall cost.
RECOMMENDATION: To approve Curfman Trucking & Repair as the vendor for Snow Removal for the district

7.B. Determine Truth in Taxation Date & Time

Description:
The time, date, and location of the school board meeting that includes truth in taxation information are due to tax offices at both Hennepin and Carver Counties by September 30. This information is then printed on each property tax statement.
Historically, this has happened during the December regular board meeting which had been called to order at 6:00 PM. |
