2.A. November 13 Special Meeting to Canvass Election
Description:
By law, the canvassing period for the 2020 General Election is November 6-13. Our district historically has canvassed at the November regular meeting.
This year canvassing for the election will have to be pushed to Friday, November 13 due to: 1) additional 7 days after election day that absentee ballots can be received and counted 2) the Veterans Day holiday on 11/11 3) the time it will take for county offices to prepare abstracts and compile voter statistics and then provide them to cities and schools. Hennepin County has informed us they will not have their abstracts available before noon on 11/13. |
