7.A. Renewal of the District 110 Professional Growth, Reflection and Evaluation Plan for the 2020-2021 School Year
Presenter:
Kathy Oliphant, Director of Teaching and Learning
Description:
Minnesota law requires school districts to develop a plan to evaluate teachers, to improve instruction, and to increase student learning (Minnesota Statute Section 122A.40). In District 110, this evaluation plan is called the Professional Growth, Reflection, and Evaluation Plan. A district-wide committee made up of teachers and administrators meets on a regular basis to ensure the implementation of this plan, as well as provide positive support to teachers in their professional growth. This is a great collaborative effort.
District 110 and the Waconia Education Association have jointly agreed to follow the PGRE processes established for 2017-2020 during the 2020-2021 school year. A pilot program will be implemented during the 2020-2021 school year to refine the PGRE including the use of a new framework for professional growth. Using the results of next year's pilot program, an updated three-year PGRE plan is anticipated to be presented to the School Board for approval in 2021.
