Description:  The district has begun the process of building the 2020-2021 budget. Initial input has
been gathered from Principals and Administrators regarding programs and
staffing levels. Input from the Finance Committee has been given as district
staff moves forward with the development of the 2020-2021 Preliminary Budget.
District staff feels confident about putting forward a balanced budget for the
2020-2021 school year at this point.

Description:  District staff will brief the school board on an opportunity to update its many non-LED
fixtures to LED fixtures and save some money in the process.

Description:  District staff will discuss with the board the status of the transportation agreement
with Koch Bus Company.

Description:  The District’s attorney has given the following advice and response regarding the
signing of the agreement with the City of Waconia in regards to the signing of
the First Amendment to the Shared Use Agreement.        

• The signing of the agreement after both parties have agreed to it is simply an administerial task and does not have an effect on whether the agreement is valid or not. Once both parties took official action in public meetings to approve the agreement it became effective. (If a School Board Member or City Council Member refused to sign the agreement after the agreement was approved by both parties it would still have taken effect.) The simple signing does not matter in this case. He does not recommend back dating the signatures. If we want to sign we can and just date them currently with a note saying what happened in the margin.

Description:  Discussion of options with the board to replace the open seat on the school board.
