IX.A. Professional Development Audit
Description:
Every few years we are required to go through an audit of our professional development program so the district can continue our status as an approved provider through ISBE. This year, Dr. Rae worked with the Will County Regional Office of Education to provide all the required paperwork that is needed to review through the audit process. This past month we received notification that we successfully provided the necessary documents to be approved for the next few years. Attached you will find the certification letter outlining the findings from the audit.

IX.B. High Impact Tutoring Grant
Description:
In response to the need to close the achievement gap for many students following the pandemic, the state of Illinois set aside funding for school districts that serve a higher population of low-income students. Given our district serves just under forty percent free and reduced, our district qualified for the High Impact Tutoring Grant. After applying, we were awarded $38,077 to spend on small group tutoring for students who are identified for support based on the criteria we have established. The criteria will be very similar to what has been used the last few years for summer school, but will be provided in small group tutoring sessions between June and August. All staff have been made aware of the program for this summer through team meetings. We currently have the tutor positions posted and will be working with teams to begin identifying students who would qualify for the program.

IX.C. CITGO Grant - Family Maker Night & Math Night

On Tuesday evening, Dr. Rae will provide an update on the two events and the number of students/families that were involved. We want to thank the following staff for their leadership in the planning of the grant activities: Mrs. Bruemmer for the Family Maker Night, Mrs. Detman for Math Night, and Dr. Rae for her co-leadership with the two staff members for making each event happen. In addition to these two events, we still have some funding left for new books and some other resources.

IX.D. FY23 Financial Recognition Score
Description:
Each year school districts are required to submit their annual financial report (AFR) in the fall following the audit report from the prior school year. The state then awards a financial rating and score based on the AFR that is submitted. This spring, the state of Illinois released the financial rating and score for this year and our school district, Lockport SD 91, has been given recognition status along with a perfect score of 4.0. This is the highest score the district has received in the past 20 years of scores that are available to review. We are very proud of this accomplishment and want to recognize the efforts of Mrs. Gray, the recently retired superintendent, as well as the current board of education who have all contributed greatly to the fiscal stewardship of the district finances. This is not something that happens in one year, it is a multi-year process that builds the budget to meet the criteria measured within the financial rating and score. The criteria for the financial rating/score include:
