7.A. Chris Berogan - Elementary Principal

I’m bringing three teachers to the PLC at Work Institute conference in Madison June 22 - June 24. We’re looking to utilize some of the strong PLC structures we have in the building as well as develop some new processes to strengthen the PLC process into next year.
Summer school is off to a strong start with students grades K - 3.
I’m still looking at candidates for the preschool position and working to make sure that the person we bring in is the right fit for our students and program.

7.B. John Paddock - High School Principal

Creating schedules for next year's teacher evaluations
Curriculum Updates: Develop and maintain a one-page curriculum overview that aligns the scope and sequence with applicable standards and is accessible to students, families, and the community.
Attend the PLC Conference in Madison alongside teachers to deepen understanding of the three core PLC concepts: a focus on learning, a collaborative culture, and a results-oriented approach. Participants will gain practical strategies and actionable tools to strengthen collaboration, improve student learning outcomes, and support continuous school improvement efforts.

7.C. Ross Eberle - IT Director

Summer work is well under way. Chromebooks were evaluated for damages by the first week of June and students were charged for any issues that weren’t covered under insurance.
The new phone system is expected to arrive around July 1. It will be preconfigured so that setup should not take more than a week or two. Despite the arrival of equipment later than originally expected, the project should be complete by the start of school.
Electronic recycling is scheduled for August 4. We have started the process of removing any old tech from classrooms and collecting it in one area for easy pickup.

7.D. Jenny Keffer - Superintendent

Construction is starting on campus. Visitors to the Jr/Sr High School are asked to park out front.
The hiring committee met last week and is bringing forward a candidate for hire for our Director of Building and Grounds, Gavin Schuppner, a current Davis firefighter. Gavin has experience with numerous trades and brings a wealth of knowledge to the position.
The district office is undergoing some movement, as Ross and Max are upgrading to a larger office space to create room for filing cabinets in the district office. We will also be replacing Angie's desk which has been broken for the school year.

8.A. State Champions - Softball Team
Congratulations to our girls softball team for an outstanding performance and bringing back the 1A State Championship Trophy for the first time in program history! The team represented our community with pride and sportsmanship. We are incredibly proud of the hard work and dedication of our student-athletes and coaching staff in bringing this success back to Dakota.

8.B. Sara Waelti Award Recipient
Congratulations to Chad Pals for being honored with an award named after a teacher who was instrumental in his decision to become an educator. His nomination included recognition for being flexible with his schedule to offer extra help to students. Thank you, Chad, for your dedication!
