II.B. Final Levy Certification Announcement
(7:40-7:45) Kevin Januszewski, Executive Director of Business Services, will announce that the Final Levy Certification will take place at the regularly scheduled Board of Education meeting on December 17th at 7:00 p.m. at St. Cloud City Hall located at 400 2nd Street South, St. Cloud, Minnesota. There will be time for public testimony. This Levy Certification is the District's annual Levy that is certified each year. If the Building Referendum, voted on by residents November 3rd, is successful the amount from the Referendum would be included in this Levy Certification. |
II.C. Summary of August Work Session and Preview of September Work Session

Description:
The topics of the Board Work Session held on August 12, 2015, were Tech High School Student Presentations, World's Best Workforce Summary, and Vice-Chair Discussion. Dr. Marsha Baisch, Assistant Superintendent, will provide a summary.

V.G. Approval for Submission of Grant Application
Description:
The Administration recommends approval for submission of a Math SmARTS II grant application by the District 742 Math/Fine Arts Coordinators to the Mardag Foundation in the amount of $20,000.00. The grant seeks to provide equitable access to learning by providing strategies that address multiple learning styles. Multiple and differing perspectives will be incorporated in the learning strategies to give students new, nontraditional, exciting and intriguing entry into academic arenas they may have rejected. The grant also allows the community to partner with the schools, working together to address challenges and opportunities. Teachers and artists working side-by-side provide models of life-long learning and together we will all share in the success of the project.

V.L. Joint Purchasing Agreement
Description:
Minnesota Statute 471.59 authorizes governmental units to enter into cooperative purchasing agreements. There is no cost or obligation to the District to participate in this program. To enhance the District's buying power, the purchasing department wishes to participate in cooperative purchases, bids, and contracts with Paynesville Area School District 741.
The Administration recommends that the Board of Education authorize the Superintendent's designee to enter into a joint purchasing agreement with Paynesville Area School District 741. |
V.M. U.S. Communities Contract - Roofing Project at Madison Elementary School
Description:
The Administration recommends that the Board of Education enter into a contract under the U.S. Communities Contract with Design-Build Solutions, Inc., (DBS), a subsidiary of Garland Industries for Roofing Project at Madison Elementary School in the amount of $141,146.00.
This project will be funded with Fund Balance. |
V.N. Roosevelt Education Center Building Renovation and Addition
Description:
The Administration recommends approval of the following change order for the above named project.
- Change Order #1 with Boser Construction, Inc. in the amount of +$49,458.00 for revisions to doors, hardware, grab bars and sub work; addition of 3 ft sump to storm structure for chamber system; soil corrections; and aluminum door opening. This project is funded with fund balance funds. This change order is within the approved budget for this project. |
