2.B. Superintendent's Report
Description:
1. Fall Staff Development was extremely successful throughout the district and within each building. Carla Nolan did a great job with help from building principals and other directors to lead staff development for new teachers and all staff during the weeks leading up to the first student days.
2. A great beginning to school for our students. Thanks to all the parents and students for their flexibility at the beginning of the school year. Open house participation was extremely high this year with over 95% participation. We are either fully staffed in our support staff areas, teaching positions, transportation or have interviews being scheduled or taking place this week. Staff engagement and the excitement that students bring has been very evident in our first few days. 3. The 2025 MSBA Leadership Conference is slated for Thursday, January 16, and Friday, January 17, 2025, at the Minneapolis Convention Center. 4. The annual Truth in Taxation meeting will take place during our regular meeting on December 2nd, 2024 at 6:30 pm-Agenda Item 5. I had the opportunity to be invited and participate in the Becker All School Reunion last week at Pebble Creek Golf Club. It was great to meet and talk with graduates from the 1940's through today. They are a wonderful group that has done great things to lay the groundwork for the success and the opportunities our children have today. 6. Attached is the latest construction update. We are still working out some finishing touches and punch list items, but in a very good spot with the projects. We look to bid out roofing in the fall/winter for work next winter.

This meeting must take place between November 25th and December 28th of 2024. I recommend holding the annual Truth in Taxation meeting during our regular meeting on December 2nd, 2024 at 6:30 pm.

7. PRELIMINARY LEVY 2024 PAYABLE 2025
Description:
The first "levy run" typically contains errors. Kevin Januszewski will work with MDE to correct the calculations over the next few weeks. He will review the preliminary Payable 2025 levy information at the school board meeting.
The Pay 25 Preliminary Levy is comparable to the Pay 24 Levy, Kevin Januszewski and I recommend approving the maximum preliminary certification. A presentation covering the 24-25 budget and the Payable 25 Levy will be provided during the December regular board meeting. The final levy amount will be approved by the board at that time.
