1. An emergency meeting of the Board of Trustees of the of the Edcouch-Elsa Independent School District will be held on January 4, 2022, beginning at 6:30 p.m. Due to health and safety concerns related to the COVID-19 Coronavirus, this meeting will follow district COVID-19 guidelines. At least a quorum of the board will be participating in accordance with the provisions of Sections 551.125 or 551.127 of the Texas Government Code that have not been suspended by order of the Governor.
An emergency or urgent public necessity exists that requires immediate action of the Board or an imminent threat to public health and safety or a reasonably unforeseeable situation exists, as follows: 1-3. On March 13, 2020 Governor Abbot Declared a State Disaster for Texas Counties due to the COVID-19 epidemic. If, during the course of the meeting, discussion of any item on the agenda should be held in a closed meeting, the board will conduct a closed meeting in accordance with the Texas Open Meetings Act, Texas Government Code, Chapter 551, Subchapters D and E or Texas Government Code section 418.183(f). Before any closed meeting is convened, the presiding officer will publicly identify the section or sections of the Act authorizing the closed meeting. All final votes, actions, or decisions will be taken in open meeting. Citizen Communications: Open Forum – (Limit of 3 Minutes per speaker/group) Public Audience: Public comments for this meeting will be held as follows: Members of the public, if you wish to comment before the Board you must email comments@eeisd.org by 6:00 p.m. on January 4, 2022 to give your name and topic you wish to comment on. Individuals must send in their comment or question in the body of the email.
