1. Call meeting to order, roll call, establishment of a quorum and Pledge of Allegiance.

2. Invocation.

3. OPEN FORUM:  Comments from the public. Citizen Communications: (Limit of 3 minutes per speaker/group) Public Audience: Public comments for   this meeting will be held as follows: Members of the public, if you wish to comment before the Board you must email comments@eeisd.org by 8:00 a.m. on December 27, 2021 to give your name and topic you wish to comment on.   Individuals must send in their comments or question in the body of the email.

4. DISCUSSION AND ACTION ITEMS:

4.a. Discussion and action to approve resolution authorizing the District to exit TRS and issue appropriate notices.

5. CLOSED SESSION: The superintendent requests that the Board of Trustees convene in closed meeting as authorized by the provisions of the Open Meeting Act, Chapter 551 of the Texas Government Code.  This executive session is in accordance with the Texas Government Code Section:

5.a. 551.074 for the purpose of discussing personnel, considering appointment, employment, resignation, retirement, evaluation, reassignment, duties, discipline, or dismissal of a public officer or employee.

5.b. Consultation with legal counsel regarding a.)  pending or contemplated litigation b.)  settlement offer; or c.)  matter in which the duty of the attorney to Edcouch-Elsa Independent School District under the Texas Disciplinary Rules of Professional Conduct of the State Bar of Texas clearly conflicts with Chapter 551 of the Texas Government Code (TX.Gov't. Code 551.071)

5.c. Consultation with Board Counsel regarding the District’s pending claim filed in the bankruptcy proceedings of the Texas Association of School Property and Liability Fund.

6. ACTION ITEMS DISCUSSED IN CLOSED SESSION:

6.c. Discussion and action to authorize Board counsel to withdraw the District’s pending claim filed in the bankruptcy proceedings of the Texas Association of School Property and Liability Fund.
