7. DISCUSSION AND ACTION ITEMS:
7.a. Discussion and action to approve the nomination of local school board trustee for Region 1 Position A Three Year Term or Region 1 Position B One Year Term.  Position A expires after Convention 2022 and Position B expires after Convention 2024.

Description:  A TASB Director represents his or her region on the Board, guiding the organization to ensure that the Association fulfills its mission to provide advocacy, visionary leadership, and high-quality services to you, our members.  If your local school board would like to nominate a candidate, please follow the attached instructions, and complete and return the attached forms.  Nominations must be received by TASB no later than Wednesday, June 30, 2021.
7.b. Request to approve the Memorandum of Understanding between Edcouch-Elsa ISD and
United Migrant Opportunity Services Migrant & Seasonal Head Start Program (UMOS MSHS) 2021 - 2023.

8. CLOSED SESSION:  The superintendent requests that the Board of Trustees convene in closed meeting as authorized by the provisions of the Open Meeting Act, Chapter 551 of the Texas Government Code.  This executive session is in accordance with the Texas Government Code Section:

8.a. 551.074 for the purpose of discussing personnel, considering appointment, employment, resignation, retirement, evaluation, reassignment, duties, discipline, or dismissal of a public officer or employee.
8.a.1. Discussion of superintendent’s recommend to non-renew term contract of certified educator.
 
8.a.2. Discussion regarding hiring an Assistant Superintendent for Teaching and Learning.
8.b. Consultation with legal counsel regarding a.)  pending or contemplated litigation b.)  settlement offer; or c.)  matter in which the duty of the attorney to Edcouch-Elsa Independent School District under the Texas Disciplinary Rules of Professional Conduct of the State Bar of Texas clearly conflicts with Chapter 551 of the Texas Government Code (TX.Gov't. Code 551.071)

10. ADJOURNMENT:
11. Code, Chapter 551, Subchapters D and E.  Before any closed meeting is convened, the presiding officer will publicly identify the section or sections of the Act authorizing the closed meeting.  All final votes, actions, or decisions will be taken in open meeting.
