Description:
The following have been submitted for approval:
Item 1: June 19, 2023, Regular Board of Education meeting minutes Item 2: Bills submitted for payment Item 3: Pursuant to Board Policy which references Wisconsin Statutes Sections 111, 118, 121, all employees who require Wisconsin state certification shall be recommended by the superintendent to the Board of Education for approval. All recommendations presented at this time are pursuant to approved Board policies and accompanying administrative procedures. Recommended Action: Approve minutes, bills, and employment as presented. |
6.B. Consideration and/or Action to approve July 10, 2023 Educational Program Committee recommendations
Description:
The Educational Program Committee met on July 10, 2023, to approve the preliminary 10-12th grade Social Studies trip to Italy and Switzerland, to hear the Elementary Standard Based Grading update, to approve the Academic Standards public notice, to approve the first reading of revised School Board Policy 361.1 Selection of Instructional Materials, to approve the first reading of revised School Board Policy 330 Curriculum Review and Development, to approve the first readings of revised School Board Policy 871-Rule Procedures for Handling Public Complaints About the Instructional/Library Media Center Materials and 871-Exhibit Request for Reconsideration of Library/Educational Resources, to approve the first reading of revised School Board Policy 411-Rule (3) Transgender Students, and finally to approve the first reading of revised School Board Policy 411.2 Bullying. Student and Athletic Handbook approvals were tabled until the July or August Board meeting for further revisions.
Recommended Action: 1. Approve preliminary 10-12th grade Social Studies trip application to Italy and Switzerland in March 2025. 2. Approve the 2023-24 Academic Standards Public Notice. 3. Approve the first reading of revised School Board Policy 361.1 Selection of Instructional Materials. 4. 6.C. Consideration and/or Action to approve July 17, 2023 Finance & Facilities Committee recommendations
Description:
The Finance and Facilities Committee met on July 17, 2023, to hear the 2022-23 budget update, to review the 2023-24 meal prices, to review and discuss the 2023-24 budget, and to hear a Project Oversight Committee update. The committee also went into executive session to discuss a potential district land purchase.

6.D. Consideration and/or Action to approve July 17, 2023 Personnel Committee recommendations
Description:
The Personnel Committee met on July 17, 2023, to review Personnel Committee goals, to approve the 2023-24 Employee Handbook revisions, to hear a certified staff update, to approve the insurance consultation services request for proposals, to approve the request for 1-year administrator license for the RFPME Principal, to hear the 2023-24 driver and teacher bargaining agreements update, to approve instructional coach job description, and to approve the elementary principal job description. The committee also went into executive session to discuss employee negotiations and extracurricular salary schedule adjustments.
Recommended Action: 1. Approve the 2023-24 Employee Handbook revisions. 2. Approve the Insurance Consultation Services Request for Proposal. 3. Approve the request for a one-year administrator license request for RFPME Principal. 4. Approve the Instructional Coach job description. 5. Approve the Elementary Principal job description. 6. Approve the 2023-24 Extracurricular Salary Schedule (Part IV-Employee Handbook).

6.E. 2023-24 Bus Driver Collective Bargaining Agreement
Description:
The Personnel Committee is recommending the approval of the 2023-24 Bus Driver Collective Bargaining Agreement. The offer includes a base wage increase and additional supplemental step movement. Drivers who qualify for step advancement will be eligible for a $1.56 per hour increase (6.5% average increase).
Recommended Action: Approve 2023-24 Driver Collective Bargaining Agreement as presented.

6.F. 2023-24 Teacher Collective Bargaining Agreement
Description:
The Personnel Committee is recommending the approval of the 2023-24 Teacher Collective Bargaining Agreement. The offer includes a base wage and supplemental increases that will result in an average salary increase of 4.7% for teachers.
Recommended Action: Approve 2023-24 Teacher Collective Bargaining Agreement as presented.
