5.B. Approval of minutes, bills and recommended employment
Description:
Background: The following have been submitted for approval:
Item 1: February 17, 2020 Regular Board of Education meeting minutes Item 2: Bills submitted for payment Item 3: Pursuant to Board Policy which references Wisconsin Statutes Sections 111, 118, 121, all employees who require Wisconsin state certification shall be recommended by the superintendent to the Board of Education for approval. All recommendations presented at this time are pursuant to approved Board policies and accompanying administrative procedures. Recommended Action: Approve minutes, bills and employment as presented.

5.C. Approve the second reading of revised policy 458 Wellness
Description:
Background: Policy updates are being made to align the District policy with our current practices that follow federal guidelines. The first reading of the policy was approved at the February 17, 2020 Regular Board of Education meeting.
Recommended Action: Approve the second reading of revised policy 458 Wellness.

5.D. Consideration and/or Action to approve March 9, 2020 Educational Program Committee recommendations
Description:
Background: The Committee met on March 9, 2020 to hear a River Falls High School PLC Presentation and overview of current technology and device use in River Falls School District; approve the first readings of board policies 342.5 Title I; 342.5-Rule Title I guidelines; and 341.1 Reading Instruction; approve Summer School 2020 course list; approve the 2020-21 CESA Shared Service Contract; approve the final field trip applications for the 8th grade Washington DC trip, the State FFA Career Development Event Contest, the Wisconsin FFA State Convention, the FFA Officer Leadership Retreat, and the FBLA State Competition.
Recommended Action: 1. Approve the first readings of board policies 342.5 Title I; 342.5-Rule Title I guidelines; and 341.1 Reading Instruction. 2. Approve Summer School 2020 course list. 3. Approve the 2020-21 CESA Shared Service Contract. 4. 5.E. Approve the continuation of the Girl’s Hockey Coop
Description:
Background: Jennifer Peterson, Director of Academic Services, will present committee members with the 2020-21 Girl's Hockey Co-op renewal application for approval. WIAA requires that co-op's be approved by the Board of Education on an annual basis. Renewals for winter sports are due by April 1st of the year preceding the school year being applied for. This is a continuation of our current Girl's Hockey Co-op.
Recommended Action: Approve the continuation of the Girl’s Hockey Coop.

5.F. Consideration and/or Action to approve March 10, 2020 Personnel Committee recommendations
Description:
Background: The Committee met on March 10, 2020 to discuss and approve revisions to Elementary Principal and Literacy Coach job descriptions, to review and approve new job descriptions for School Social Worker and Gifted and Talented Teacher; approve 2020-21 health and dental insurance benefit renewal; and hear a 2020-21 certified staff update.
Recommended Action: 1. Approve revisions to Elementary Principal and Literacy Coach job descriptions as presented. 2. Approve new job descriptions for School Social Worker and Gifted and Talented Teacher. 3. Approve 2020-21 health and dental insurance benefit renewal. |

Recommended Action: Set meeting schedule as follows: Educational Program Committee meeting: Monday, April 13, 2020, 6:00 p.m. Personnel Committee meeting: Monday April 20, 2020, 6:00 p.m. Regular Board meeting: Monday, April 27, 2020, 6:00 p.m. Board of Education Reorganizational meeting: Monday, April 27, 2020, 7:00 p.m. All above meetings will be held at the District Office, 852 East Division Street |
