• Thank you to all the staff for all their hard work to transition to distance learning  
• Congratulations to Mia Moore and Maria Swankier for winning the Leech Lake Housing Authority Safety Poster Contest. Mia won first place and Maria won second place. This contest was open to all schools in the Leech Lake area.
•Congratulations to the Quiz Bowl Team for winning the sportsmanship award and first place at the Itasca Community College tournament at March 13.
• Congratulations to the HCN Storm Robotics team for a successful season. They received the Rookie Inspire award that is an optional award at the First Robotics competition at the DECC in Duluth. The judges awarded this after talking to our students and heard their understanding of the robot and everything that goes into preparing for the competition. The judges could tell that our students were really engaged in the robotics program, and they also really liked how the two districts are working together. The competition was an awesome experience for students and coaches and they are already looking forward to next year with more students joining the team.

RESOLUTION ACCEPTING GIFTS/DONATIONS TO NORTHLAND COMMUNITY SCHOOL DISTRICT 118, WHEREAS THE FOLLOWING:
therefore, BE IT RESOLVED by the School Board of Northland Community School District 118, Remer, and State of Minnesota as follows:

The Northland Community School District No. 118 School Board does hereby accept the following donations:
• $ 168.07 from Target for bags to deliver academic materials
• $100.00 from Crow Wing Power for Prom

9.1. Approve motion to conduct future meeting of the School Board of ISD 118 by electronic means until further notice.

Due to the current federal and state emergency declarations and guidance about limiting person-to-person contact due to the COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic, by action of the school board of Northland Community Schools, all future meetings of the Northland Community Schools School Board  will be conducted in accordance with Minnesota Statutes 13D.021—Meetings by Telephone or Other Electronic Means—until further notice. One or more board members may participate by telephone or other electronic means. 
In accordance with Minnesota Statutes 13D.021, it is not feasible for members of the public to attend this meeting due to the current health pandemic. Persons may monitor this meeting from a remote locations be Google Hangout. The link to the meeting will be available on the district website.

Whereas, Mary Overlie is a probationary teacher in Independent School District No. 118;

BE IT RESOLVED, by the School Board of Independent School District No. 118, that pursuant to Minnesota Statutes 122A.40, Subdivision 5, that the teaching contract of Mary Overlie, a probationary teacher in Independent School District NO. 118 is hereby terminated at the close of the current 2019-20 school year.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that written notice be sent to said teacher regarding termination and non-renewal of her contract as provided by law.

10.3. Approve Resolution of Termination of Probationary Elementary Teacher

Resolution Relating to the Termination and Non-Renewal of the Teaching Contract of Sara Mager, a Probationary Teacher

Whereas, Sara Mager is a probationary teacher in Independent School District No. 118;

BE IT RESOLVED, by the School Board of Independent School District No. 118, that pursuant to Minnesota Statutes 122A.40, Subdivision 5, that the teaching contract of Sara Mager, a probationary teacher in Independent School District NO. 118 is hereby terminated at the close of the current 2019-20 school year.
