3.A. Glen Crest musicians had a successful day at the Illinois Grade School Music Association (IGSMA) solo & ensemble contest on Saturday, February 21. The contest was hosted at Jay Stream Middle School in Carol Stream. Katie Berry, Lev Garbar, Ktisti Kline and Andrew Ladendorf are proud of the hard work and dedication of all the students who participated.
Division I rating - (first place - Ensembles) - Mila Fousias, Audrey Hiscock, Wyatt Lilly, Hope Loney and Grace Williamson. Division I rating - (first place - Solos) - Lincoln Anderson, Grace Bab, Srisharan Burra, Arya Bushi, Cameron Cernauske, Raquel Chivardi, Victoria Chivardi, Dennis Ciubarca, Sophia Furlong, Carter Hebard, Ethan Hicks, Lucas, Ilchena, Tyler Kisling, Daniel Kocaj, Emily Kregor, Ellie Landa, Olivia Loftsgaarden, Hope Loney, Briana Mahan, Joshua OBrill, Felix Poi, Lucas Suciu, Aditya Surpuriya, Kaitlyn Szymonik, Fabiani Taveras Abreu, Krish Uppal and Lumi Williamson. |

3.B. Congratulations to Glen Crest students Annabelle Cozza, Grace Hageman, Beatrice Hurley, Ellie Koger, Joshita Kurdiya, Makenna LaRocca, Olivia Loftsgaarden, Emily Prothe, Dania Sultan, and Grace Williamson for completing the Spartacus Reading Challenge. Between November and January, these students read 25 books that are in consideration for the prestigious Newbery Medal for distinguished children's literature.

3.C. Park View Elementary School second-graders are excited to spotlight the Game Board Club. This club provides our younger students with the opportunity to learn and play non-electronic games together while developing important social skills such as cooperation, communication, and problem-solving. Game Board Club is sponsored and led by Mrs. Wilson and Mrs. Renzi, both first grade teachers, and takes place during lunch for any first or second grade student who would like to participate.

3.D. Congratulations to Nick Ludolph, who was named the 2025 Glen Ellyn Chamber of Commerce Educator of the Year for CCSD 89!

3.E. A new collection of artwork is displayed in the boardroom, courtesy of Park View and Westfield elementary schools. Our amazing artistic students are: Adrian Biank, Emily Dawtthasung, Vivienne de Leon, Abigail Glennon, Maya Lipka, Heidi Mendoza, Eve Palm, Paisley Ravenscraft, Amelie Santin, Reilly Tyminski, Isabella Wilson, and Suzanna Wygoda. Thank you to art teacher Dawn Weathers for her assistance in providing this opportunity to showcase District 89 students.

The Board will enter into closed session to discuss the appointment, employment, compensation, discipline, performance, or dismissal of specific employees of the District or legal counsel for the District, including hearing testimony on a complaint lodged against an employee of the District or against legal counsel for the District to determine its validity as allowed by Section 2 5ILCS 120/2(c)(1), collective negotiating matters between the District and its employees or their representatives, or deliberations concerning salary schedules for one or more classes of employees as allowed by Section 2 5ILCS 120/2(c)(2), the placement of individual students in special education programs and other matters relating to individual students as allowed by Section 2 5ILCS 120/2(c)(10), and litigation, when an action against, affecting or on behalf of the District has been filed and is pending before a court or when the public body finds that an action is probable or imminent, in which the basis for the finding shall be recorded and entered into the minutes of the closed meeting as allowed by Section 2 5ILCS 120/2(c)(11). |
