3.A. The Park View Student Spotlight will feature the 4th grade Hobby Hangout program. This is a thriving initiative program created by the 4th grade teachers and designed to immerse our 4th-grade students in creative, skill-building activities that extend learning beyond the traditional curriculum. Park View students: Jeremiah Eun, Allie Formea, Zoe Formea, Elijah Johnson, Aishwarja Narayahan, Nicholas Roman and Suimen Zing, explore new ideas and learn to "think outside the box," developing innovative approaches to challenges; by engaging in longer, sustained projects like puzzles, crocheting, and various crafts. Finishing a project or mastering a new skill instills a strong sense of pride and self-efficacy.

3.B. Eighth grader Myles Clarin and seventh grader Grace Williamson were selected to participate in the prestigious Illinois Music Education Association District IX Junior Division Festival on November 15 at West Aurora High School. To earn a spot in the honor ensembles, Clarin, who plays alto saxophone, and Williamson, who plays violin, submitted an online audition that was judged by music educators. At the festival, Clarin and Williamson performed alongside students from across the region.
