3.A. The April Student Spotlight features the Briar Glen Elementary Drama Club. In addition to being the actors in “The Not-So-Mysterious Disappearance of Cinderella”, students coordinate costumes, design sets, manage the sound, and build props. The play helps students build confidence and creativity. Presenting will be teachers Amanda Casmer, Rachel Druger, and Annie Lillwitz, as well as students Penny Ayers, Allie Breault, Meegan Frega, Tessa Howard and Owen Wilmarth Tyna.

3.B. Congratulations to the Glen Crest eighth-grade girls basketball team for winning the DuPage Metro Valley Association Conference regular-season and tournament titles. The girls finished the season with 19 wins and zero losses! Members of the eighth-grade girls basketball team are: Julia Alcala, Alexis Baygood, Paige Bogue, Molly Clarin, Emma Eirich, Erin Fitzgerald, Bella Herbert, Cailin Kiley, Lilly Pagano, Aleksa Svarogina, Aspen Usalis, and Kaylie Zeman. The team is coached by Danny Sheridan.

3.C. Congratulations to the Glen Crest seventh-grade boys volleyball team for earning the DuPage Metro Valley Association Conference championship. The Spartans finished the year with a 11-2 record to tie for the regular-season title, and they finished second in the conference tournament. Head coach Caroline Stauber praised the team's excellence in all areas of play.

3.D. Thank you to CCSD 89 elementary PE teachers, Nate Arenson, Will Brewer, Mike Casmer, Missy Hanneman, and Shea Moroni for inspiring students to develop healthy heart habits and support the American Heart Association Kids Heart Challenge. This year, students raised more than $30,700 to help children with heart health issues!

12. Closed Session
The Board will enter into closed session to discuss the appointment, employment, compensation, discipline, performance, or dismissal of specific employees of the District or legal counsel for the District, including hearing testimony on a complaint lodged against an employee of the District or against legal counsel for the District to determine its validity as allowed by Section 2 5ILCS 120/2(c)(1), to discuss collective negotiating matters between the District and its employees or their representatives, or deliberations concerning salary schedules for one or more classes of employees as allowed by Section 2 5ILCS 120/2(c)(2) and for the purpose of litigation, when an action against, affecting or on behalf of the District has been filed and is pending before a court or administrative tribunal, or when the public body finds that an action is probable or imminent, in which the basis for the finding shall be recorded and entered into the minutes of the closed meeting as allowed by Section 2 5ILCS 120/2(c)(11). |
