3.A. The March Student Spotlight features Arbor View Elementary "Girls on Fire" running club. The weekly club teaches girls about social skills, self-respect, self-awareness and kindness to others while training them to become better runners. After 10 weeks, the club culminates with a 5K run. Presenting will be Arbor View teachers Danielle Border and Olivia Costello with current and former Arbor View students, Gia Aughenbaugh, Clara Binder, Aubrey Flanigan, Kelsey Gjataj, Olivia Loftsgaarden, Julia Ricci, and Brooke Sikorski.

3.B. Glen Crest musicians had a successful day at the Illinois Grade School Music Association (IGSMA) solo & ensemble contest on Saturday, February 24. The contest was hosted by Spring Wood Middle School in Hanover Park. Katie Berry, Lev Garbar, Kristi Kline and Andrew Ladendorf, and the entire CCSD 89 community is proud of the hard work and dedication of all the students who participated. Special recognition is given to the following musicians for their achievements:

12. Closed Session
The Board will enter into closed session to discuss the appointment, employment, compensation, discipline, performance, or dismissal of specific employees of the District or legal counsel for the District, including hearing testimony on a complaint lodged against an employee of the District or against legal counsel for the District to determine its validity as allowed by Section 2 5ILCS 120/2(c)(1), to discuss collective negotiating matters between the District and its employees or their representatives, or deliberations concerning salary schedules for one or more classes of employees as allowed by Section 2 5ILCS 120/2(c)(2), to discuss student disciplinary cases as allowed by Section 5 ILCS 120/2(c)(9) and for the purpose of litigation, when an action against, affecting or on behalf of the District has been filed and is pending before a court or administrative tribunal, or when the public body finds that an action is probable or imminent, in which the basis for the finding shall be recorded and entered into the minutes of the closed meeting as allowed by Section 2 5ILCS 120/2(c)(11). |
