3.A. The April Student Spotlight features Glen Crest's Teen Advisory Board. This is a group of student leaders who work regularly with Mrs. O'Connell and Ms. Riley to promote library events and foster a love of reading at Glen Crest. They will be discussing the new Little Free Library which now resides right out front of Glen Crest.

3.B. Congrats to the 8th grade girls basketball team for winning the conference tournament championship with an exciting overtime win over Herrick. Great way to cap off the season! The team had an overall record of 14-4 and also took 2nd place in the Jay Stream Tournament. Members of the eighth-grade girls basketball team are: Kylan Anderson, Bella Beltran, Isabella Breault, Alaina Burke, Kaitlin Erickson, Emily Everett, Emma Full, Savanna Hagedorn, Nina Hendricksen, Marlena Kendra, Addison Kite, and Gianna Langert and managers for the team were Taylor Peterson and Fatimah Shahid.

3.C. Thank you to the CCSD 89 EL team for hosting the Cultural Fair on April 13. It was an amazing event celebrating the diversity in our community. Students and families came together to learn about traditions and customs from more than a dozen countries. Thank you to EL teachers Kathy Kron from Arbor View, Mary Krajcir from Briar Glen, Tonia Hardke and Denise Urso from Park View, Tammi Madden from Westfield, and Chelsea Innocenti from Glen Crest for all their hard work organizing this event. And thank you to the many students and families who shared food, stories, artifacts, and music!
