3.A. The March Student Spotlight features the WATCH D.O.G.S. (Dads of Great Students) program at Briar Glen Elementary School. Dad volunteers three days a week where they can choose half or full days. They are provided a schedule and flow between classrooms throughout their time volunteering. They also attend lunch and recess. Dads will read stories, teach small groups, flash cards, and participate in special events. |
3.B. Glen Crest musicians had a successful day at the Illinois Grade School Music Association (IGSMA) solo & ensemble contest on Saturday, February 25. The contest was hosted by Roselle Middle School, located at Lake Park High School in Roselle. Katie Berry, Lev Garbar, Kristi Kline, Sam Koppitz and Andrew Ladendorf, and the entire CCSD 89 community is proud of the hard work and dedication of all the students who participated. Special recognition is given to the following musicians on their achievements:

3.C. A new collection of artwork displayed in the boardroom, comes to us courtesy of Arbor View, Briar Glen, Park View and Westfield elementary schools. Our awesome artistic students are: Julia Bartus, Logan Carbonneau, Rylee Egan, Jude Felix, Matilda Hillier, Sarah John, Camila Kiser, Wyatt Lilly, Juliet Malone, Riddhi Nikam, Giovanna Marino, Barrett Scott and Caleb Wayman. Thank you to art teachers Nicole Buettner and Dawn Weathers for their assistance in providing this opportunity to showcase District 89 students. |
