3.A. The student spotlight will be highlighting the Westfield Elementary student newspaper club. The newspaper club is new this year and has so far published 3 editions. It is led by Abby Coran and Karl Mennecke. Our students Penelope Allred, Daniela Alvarez, Annabelle Angelico, Leen Ba Hamead, Kate Boquiron, Mila Fousias, Nathan Gatica, Jace Habasek, Carter Killackey, Grace Klaus, Alyssa Langert, Leia Lindhorst, Lilah Manning, Lilah Moore, Mackenzie Murtaugh, Jane O'Reilly, Carlos Osornio, Shrushti Parikh, Gavin Peasley, Prisila Polena, Aisha Raheja, Charlotte Ramos, Elisabeth Searls, Haley Trompeter, Sienna Walsh and Alyssa Zepeda will highlight the club's activities. |
3.B. Our first regional competition was at Montini High School. Our eighth grade team took second place and the seventh grade team took third place in the competition, with 20 middle schools participating in the competition. Our second regional competition was also at Montini. The Glen Crest team finished second overall in the competition. In the next regional competition was at St. Francis High School. We had another big win finishing third overall in the competition with our teams posting wins in both team and individual events.
Our team mathletes consists of eight graders: Sasha Bystrukhina, Krishika Bandari, Maggie McIntyre, Michael McIntyre, Azam Muneer, Leo OBrill, and William Pope; seventh graders are: Dea Gjata, Emily Goodin, Aditya Narayanan, Agastya Pabba, and Shreenith Sarvaghan; and sixth graders are: Agnius Gramauskas and Clara Pope and coach Monica Shekar.
