4.A. The January Student Spotlight features Park View School. Park View's Student Spotlight will focus on how the school is using all-class morning meetings to help students and staff prepare for the day. While there are many different activities that can be used for morning meetings, the goal is to create an opportunity for every single student to connect with classmates and with their teacher. The morning meeting also helps teachers identify and address any social-emotional issues that might affect a student's learning that day.

4.B. The Board of Education would like to thank Glen Crest seventh-grade student Fatimah Shahid for her work in volunteering at the December 11 pediatric vaccination clinic. While the clinic at Park View had several adult community members helping, Fatimah was the only student who volunteered to assist. She spent the afternoon cheering up kids after their shot - coloring with them and making them smile. Fatimah is a student of service, last summer, she raised more than $4,500 on her own to help homeless children and youth.
