4.B. Responsive Classroom (RC) reached out to certified teachers looking for ideas of how to create virtual morning meetings for students during stay at home COVID school closures. They were working on compiling a free resource for teachers this fall. Our very own Instructional Coach, Jessica Langman, shared a few of her ideas of how she created and helped teachers with creating virtual morning meetings this past spring. Since then, RC has created a free resource for morning meetings for students. They have listed Jessica as a contributing teacher in this free resource. Thank you Jessica for your innovative ideas to student learning!

4.C. Tony Chivardi is a fifth-grade student at Westfield. This past spring and summer, Tony ran a mask-selling business. Tony learned about starting a business from a lesson in Mr. Mennecke's fourth-grade class. Tony originally wanted to start a business so he could buy a VR headset, and his idea was to sell masks made by his grandmother's friend. Thanks to some online advertising, he sold more than 80 masks. Rather than buying something for himself, he decided to donate his profits to his school. He gave Principal Matt McDonald $100 on the first day of school. Tony hopes the school will use the money to add more coding to the library.
