9.A. 4th Reading, FY 2024 Budget
Description:
RECOMMENDATION It is the administration’s recommendation that the School Board approve the FY 2024 budget. PERTINENT FACTS: The budget committee team of the Southeast Island School District met and discussed its plan for the FY 2024 school year in terms of what can be accomplished within the bounds of a balanced budget and following the District’s Strategic Planning outcomes. Budget development is always a work in progress. The budget is currently a balanced budget. Changes will occur in FY 2024 when salaries, benefits, and foundation funding with the approval of the Average Daily Membership, Intensive Student count and Correspondence Student count are all finalized.

Description:
RECOMMENDATION:
The administration recommends that the School Board ratify the 2023-2024 Collective Agreement Between Southeast Island School District and the Southeast Island Education Association. PERTINENT FACTS: The collective bargaining team met four times and reached a tentative agreement for the 2023-2024 Collective Agreement Between Southeast Island School District and the Southeast Island Education Association. The Southeast Island Education Association met and ratified the agreement last Friday. |

9.K. Hollis School Replacement Project: RFP 18, Fire Suppression Changes
Description:
RECOMMENDATION:
The administration recommends that the School Board approve Hollis School Replacement RFP 18, Fire Suppression Changes PERTINENT FACTS: During a review of the existing water flow from the damn to the building site, the sprinkler designer determined that there was inadequate water supply to provide required sustained flows for the fire sprinkler system design requirements. This RFP is a cost proposal for providing fire sprinkler water storage tanks and associated mechanical and electrical appurtenances for a complete system. Also included in the cost proposal is civil exterior concrete slab and bollards at the storage tank location. RFP 18 came in higher than expected and would need to be paid out of the project contingency. The Hollis School Replacement Project Director will work with the Department of Education and Early Development to determine if there are other funding options available. |
9.L. Sprinkler Repair Proposals: Thorne Bay School and Thorne Bay Gym

RECOMMENDATION:
The administration recommends that the School Board approve the proposal for the Thorne Bay School sprinkler system from Ketchikan Mechanical, Inc., and the proposal for the Thorne Bay Gym sprinkler system from Ketchikan Mechanical, Inc. for $39,779.31. PERTINENT FACTS:
