All Wausau School District Board of Education Meetings will be conducted as a virtual meeting due to an active emergency situation (COVID-19 Pandemic), meaning that multiple Board members may be participating in the meeting from remote locations through the use of communications technology and that public access to the meeting may be arranged through the use of technology. 

Members of the media and public may attend in person, by calling 1-415-655-0001, then dial the meeting room access code:

  All public participants' phones, microphones, and chat dialog boxes will be muted or disabled during the meeting.  Members of the public who do not wish to appear in person may email cpeck@wausauschools.org with "Public Comment" in the subject line.  Those messages received prior to the start of the meeting will be provided to the Board President.  

Members of the public who do not wish to appear in person may view the meeting live by the Wausau Area Access Media on the Government and Education Cable Channel 981.  Wausau Area Access Media also lives streams the meeting on https://waam.viebit.com The meeting will also be available on the Wausau Area Access Media Youtube channel a few days after filming.  All meeting access information shall also appear in a prominent location on the Wausau School District website.

VII.B.1. Whole Child - Whole Wausau Short Cycle Report on Goals A4. Academic Achievement Goal and AGR Presentation
Description:  Chris Nyman, Paul Weber, Andrea Sheridan, Jon Euting, and the Achievement Gap Reduction (AGR) Campus Principals provided a narrative of the time-frame after school closed due to COVID-19, including a brief summary of why we were unable to assess our students using Fast Bridge in spring 2020.  On behalf of the AGR Principals, Ms. Sheridan also describes individual school’s overall experience of and response to the COVID-19 crisis and the impacts of the pandemic on academic achievement.

VIII.A. Alternate Graduation Options
Description: 

In the Spring of 2020 a decision was made to postpone graduation in reaction to the Covid pandemic and the Safer at Home Order.  It was also hoped that by August a traditional graduation ceremony could be held in recognition of our seniors accomplishments.  In light of our current situation, administration does not recommend a traditional graduation ceremony be held in early August with an audience and students sitting near each other for an extended period of time.  Administration proposes two options.

The first option would be to invite only graduating students to attend a ceremony in the gymnasium or on a football field where they would be socially distanced and the ceremony would be live streamed for families.  

A second option would be to explore holding a very unique ceremony at the Granite Peak ski lift.  Being outdoors and socially distanced offers a safer environment.  Families could ride the lift with their graduating students, so families could play a larger role in the event.  Many details would need to be worked out. 

Administration seeks direction from the school board.
