V. CALL TO PUBLIC
|
V.A. Pursuant to Federal Public Law 103-382, Title 8 (Impact Aid), and the District's Indian Education Policy (IGAK), this call is for any member of our district. The public is cautioned about making statements against employees of the District that may be considered slanderous. A further reminder, the minutes of this meeting are public record and may be used in other proceedings. This is the time that the public may speak to the Governing Board on any issue including agenda items. Action taken as a result of public comment will be limited to directing staff to study the matter, or to reschedule the matter for further consideration and a decision at a later date if it is not already on the agenda. Comments under Call to Public will be limited to four minutes.
Those wishing to address the board are requested to submit their comments by one of the following methods by 10 am Tuesday January 9, 2024: email public comments to jsaxton@holbrook.k12.az.us, fax to 928-524-3073 or mail by USPS to PO Box 640 Holbrook, AZ 86025. IX.A. SY 24-25 School Calendars- Dr. Koerperich
Description:
The HUSD #3 calendar committee has developed a recommended calendar for SY 24-25. The calendar includes a 5-day traditional calendar with half-days on Friday for Park, Hulet, HJHS and HHS and a 4-day calendar for Indian Wells Elementary School. The calendar meets the requirements for 180 student days and 144 student days for Indian Wells Elementary and 183 certified teacher days.
Recommendation: Discussion and consideration to approve the SY 24-25 school calendar; as well as, the four-day calendar for Indian Wells Elementary School as presented. |
IX.B. Classified Student Service Position And Job Description- Dr. Koerperich
Description:
The Holbrook School District is requesting approval of a Classified Student Services job description as presented.
Recommendation: Discussion and consideration to approve the Classified Student Services job description as presented. |
IX.C. Teacher Resignation- Dr. Koerperich
Description:
Ms. Hillary Pruett has submitted her letter of resignation as of December 22, 2023. Ms. Pruett's resignation is subject to Policy GCQC Resignation of Professional Staff Members.
Recommendation: Discussion and consideration to approve Ms. Hillary Pruett's resignation effective December 22, 2023 and determination to assess or waive liquidated damages as per Policy GCQC Resignation of Professional Staff Members. |
IX.D. Speech-Language Pathologist Assistant Practicum Hours Approval- Dr. Koerperich
Description:
Ms. Lilly Parrish, Northern Arizona University student studying Communication Sciences and Disorders, is requesting to complete Speech-Language Practicum Assistant (SLPA) practicum hours under the direction of Speech-Language Pathologist Karalyn Reidhead during the spring semester. Ms. Parrish will have a valid fingerprint clearance prior to beginning the practicum work.
Recommendation: Discussion and consideration to approve Ms. Lilly Parrish to complete SLPA practicum hours during the spring semester under SLP Karalyn Reidhead. |

XII. Executive Session
Description:
The Governing Board may vote to convene in executive session pursuant to A.R.S. Section 38-431.03(A)(3) for consultation for legal advice with the attorney of the District. The Governing Board may vote to enter into executive session on any item on this agenda for which an executive session is allowable.
