11.A. Review and approve the Proposed Tentative 2022-2023 Budget.
For years, library practice has been the board approve a tentative budget in April, May or June which funds the new fiscal year beginning July 1st. Tonight's approval of the tentative budget is paramount also to adopt the 22-02 Ordinance for Budget and Appropriations July 1, 2022 to June 30, 2023, to meet the statutory deadline of September 27, 2022. |

11.B. MOVE to approve Ordinance 22-02, Tentative Ordinance providing for Budget and Appropriation, Cook County, Illinois for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2022 and ending June 30, 2023.
Tonight, it is imperative to approve the 22-02 Ordinance, Tentative Ordinance for Budget and Appropriations, July 1, 2022 to June 30, 2023 in order to adopt the final Ordinance by the statutory deadline of September 27, 2022. In addition, tonight's approval of the tentative Ordinance will initiate the required publication of the Notice of Public Hearing in a local newspaper (plus on the website and post on entrance doors) for August 24, 2022. The August 24, 2022 publication, will provide 30 days required for public viewing to schedule the Public Hearing on September 26, 2022. The date to adopt Ordinance 22-02 for the final Budget and Appropriation, July 1, 2022 to June 30, 2023 will take place after the Public Hearing on September 26, 2022 providing 1 workday for the administration to file by the September 27, 2022 deadline. |
