6. TEMPORARY SUSPENSION OF SCHOOL BOARD POLICY 2:70
Description:
Rationale: The last paragraph of Board Policy 2:70 provides that: “Immediately following a vacancy on the Board of Education, the Board will publicize it and accept résumés from District residents who are interested in filling the vacancy. After reviewing the applications, the Board may invite the prospective candidates for personal interviews to be conducted during duly scheduled closed meetings.” Inasmuch as we just had a School Board election, the Board can suspend this paragraph and seat the individual who received votes from the community. Recommended motion: I move that the Board of Education of Lincolnwood School District 74 temporarily suspend the last paragraph of Policy 2:70 until such time as the Board adjourns sine die, at which time Policy 2:70 shall be reinstated, as authorized by Board Policy 2:240. 7. APPOINTMENT OF JEFFREY S. EVENS TO THE LINCOLNWOOD SCHOOL DISTRICT 74 BOARD OF EDUCATION
Description:
Rationale: Section 10-10 of the School Code and Board Policy 2:70 authorize the Board of Education to appoint members to fill vacancies.
Recommended motion: I move that the Board of Education of Lincolnwood School District 74 appoint Jeffrey S. Evens to fill the two-year vacancy until the consolidated election to be held in 2021. Motion by Member:__________________________Seconded by Member:_____________________ |
