Description:  Posting for the summer worker position began in March.  To date, we have two candidates. Due to the current difficulties in finding summer workers and the current part-time job climate, we are recommending raising the hourly rate for custodial summer workers from $13.00 to $15.00.   Summer worker salaries are budgeted annually into the operations and maintenance fund.   The quantity of summer workers will be reflective of the already budgeted funds.  

Description:  Mike will provide an update as we fiinish preparations for our summer work.

Description:  As discussed at past B&S meetings, we have asked Honeywell to provide a 1 year service contract so we can be reflective of their service commitments prior to entering into another long-term contract, given our past experience with staffing and service concerns.   Attached is a one-year agreement, which reflects a 3% increase for the period from July 1 2022 - June 30 2023.

Description:  Principal Curtis has requested to utilize his residual FY22 building supply funds to put towards some additional classroom furnishings.

Description:  Administration is planning to replace the carpeting in Sullivan Room 105 with tile to allow for additional flexibility as a potential future Early Childhood space.  Funds will be allocated from the Operations and Maintenance Contracted Services account.

Description:  As shown in the attached pictures, the recent rains have proven that the basement seepage is worse than once thought.  We would like to move forward with addressing this concern as quickly as possible.  We have worked with Arcon to identify a selected vendor (who will also be working on the MacArthur Band Room) and can address each of the areas within the next two months.  Funds will be allocated from Fund 60, Capital Projects.

Description:  Mike will provide an overview of the plan to address the seepage in the MacArthur Band Room.  Work is to be completed over the summer with funds coming from Fund 60, Capital Projects.  As the Committee is aware seepage in the Band Room has been ongoing for several years.  Working with Arcon, we have come up with a plan to address and correct this issue.

Description:  In addition to the construction of the Outdoor Learning Environments, landscaping work will be done at Ross, Sullivan and MacArthur that includes landscape restoration, removal of several large bushes and replanting of perennial grasses, and plantings, smaller bushes, butterfly gardens and in the Courtyard, the installation of a Sensory Walkway and boulder seating area.  Additional Natural Playgrounds will be providing benches, garden boxes and two trellis swings.  Funding is to come from ESSER III Funds as well as FY22 Grounds Equipment from the Operations and Maintenance Fund.

Description:  The SAIL Program applied for and was awarded a $1,000 Earth Day Grant from our friends at Lurveys for the development of the Sensory Walk in the MacArthur Courtyard.  

Description:  This summer, the tables and benches in the front of Ross and Sullivan will be refurbished with the existing frames being straightened and all wood being replaced with a composite (TREX). Funds have been allocated in the FY22 budget for Exterior Grounds - Repair and Maintenance

Description:  The Prospect Heights Youth Baseball & Softball organization has requested permission to have a shed constructed at the Lou Johnson "Phantom's Field" site. Proposals and diagrams have been attached for the Committee's review. Certificates of Insurance will be required prior to installation.

Description:  Mike will provide an update on our plan for Energy Procurement as we work to lock in a lower rate in advance of the renewal of our cooperative purchasing agreement.
