Good news! After an infrared scan of the concrete slab to verify we were not going to cut any other piping or electrical, the slab next to the water main was saw-cut and removed. Defranco Plumbing verified that the neither the water main or the storm water main was leaking. Timing is everything, this happened to be just after a huge rain event. We witnessed groundwater leaking into the pit area from below grade foundation cracks where construction additions meet up.

II.G. Civil Engineering Proposal for 2020 Paving Work
Presenter:
Brian Rominski
Description:
In preparation for the MacArthur paving project tentatively scheduled for 2020, I met with CAGE to review the parking lots, existing conditions, storm water issues, etc. CAGE provided this proposal ($6,100) to conduct a topographic survey identifying existing pavement elevations and structures in the parking lot. This information will be critical for project budgeting, design, engineering. Also included in the proposal is CAGE time to conduct preliminary discussions with Village of Prospect Heights and MWRD (storm water regulatory body) to review the potential project and ID any regulatory requirements prior to cost estimating and project budget development. CAGE has availability to complete prior to start of school year while there are minimal obstructions in the parking lot.
