IX. PUBLIC PARTICIPATION
Description:
Public participation is a time for community members and District employees to express a point of view, not to debate an issue. There will be a sign-up sheet for the public to identify their name, address, phone number, name of the organization represented (if any), and a brief description of the topic to be addressed. A District 50 administrative staff member will follow up with you within 48 hours of this meeting to determine if you would like to discuss the issue further. Comments are limited to 3 minutes for an overall maximum of one hour and/or a 20-minute-minimum total length for any one subject (See Board Policy 2:230).

Description:
On January 19, 2023 FOIA Officer Firak received from Melissa Scavongelli (NorthWestern University) a request of records that show all incidents of student referrals to law enforcement, including records that would show the students’ race and gender if available, from August 1, 2021 to present. A request of records that shows all incidents of student arrests by law enforcement and the underlying offenses, including records that would show the students’ race and gender if available from August 1, 2021 to present. A request of records that show all incidents in which a student was cited or ticketed by law enforcement for an ordinance violation and the underlying offenses, including records that would show the student’s race and gender if available from August 1, 2021 to present. Mrs. Firak fulfilled the request on February 13, 2023. |
