3. SABER PRIDE

Description:
We are happy to congratulate Shakopee High School’s DECA team for a stellar performance at the District 3 Competition in early January. The competition was held virtually. Of the 86 students that competed from Shakopee, 61 qualified for the DECA State Career Development Conference which will be held in early March. There, students will compete to advance to the International Career Development Conference. DECA is an international student organization that prepares emerging leaders and entrepreneurs in marketing, finance, hospitality, and management. Shakopee DECA was founded in 2017. Shakopee DECA has 103 members representing students in grades 9-12 and all 6 career academies. 103 Shakopee High School students in our CAPS Program began internships at businesses and organizations throughout our area. Students will get to work with professionals in their field of interest, get industry experience, and work on real-life projects. CAPS stands for Center for Advanced Professional Studies. CAPS has four programs:
We would love to say a great big thank you to our businesses and organizations that have hosted interns this semester as well as our host sites we just mentioned. The internships will last through March.
