7. SABER PRIDE
Description:
Service Recognition - Board Members McKeand and Tucker We’d like to start our Saber Pride by acknowledging the many, many hours and contributions of our two outgoing board members, Matt McKeand and Angela Tucker. Both have served on the school board for nine years. Tonight will be their last meeting as their current term ends this year. Near the end of the meeting we will spend more time honoring and recognizing their services. Dakota Scott Workforce Award - https://youtu.be/lEWYNLmkl0oCongratulations to Shakopee High School for being named The Willis E. Branning Excellence in Youth Employment Services Award Winner. The award, a part of the Dakota-Scott Workforce Development Board’s 2020 Legislative and Employer Awards, recognizes an organization that is committed to preparing young people aged 14-24. Shakopee High School, home of the Academies of Shakopee is committed to improving student success in post-secondary programs and career. The Dakota-Scott Workforce Development board oversees employment programs in Dakota and Scott Counties. Distance Learning - Technology Department RecognitionAnd lastly, we would like to recognize and honor our Instructional Technology Department. This team has had a year like no other! Moving to full distance learning is no easy feat and the team has been working non-stop to support student learning. Throughout this year Distance Learning has evolved and the technology department has been working very hard to keep up. From technology support for all our students and teachers, to keeping up with the latest updates for tools like Google Meet, to providing equipment for all and wireless hotspot access to more than 300 of our students - the technology department has gone above and beyond to support student success. Thank you so much to the entire team. Distance learning is just not possible without you! |
