Description:
Congratulations to Shakopee High School student Rohan Sastri on being named a finalist for the 2019-20 Federal Reserve Essay Contest. This year’s writing prompt was about free trade. Students had to answer the question: What, if anything, should government do to address the adverse consequences of free trade for some firms and individuals. The first place winner in the contest receives a cash prize and a paid summer internship at the Minneapolis Fed in the summer of 2021.

Congratulations to Shakopee High School student Gautham Nair who received the Meritorious Award in Science from the Minnesota Department of Education. The 2020 Scholars of Distinction and Meritorious Performance Awards recognize distinguished work by highly motivated self-directed students in one or more of the following areas: Leadership, Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, STEM or Theater Arts.
