Description:
BACKGROUND INFORMATION
Rick Sansted will share with the board the "206 Points of Pride." The persons being recognized this month are as follows: Tami Krick, AAHS Kitchen Assistant, earned her level four certification through the School Nutrition Association. Nichole Boyden was named Section 8AAA Assistant Gymnastics Coach of the Year. Girls Basketball Coach Wendy Kohler has become the second most winningest coach in MSHSL Girls Basketball history, with 702 career wins. Mollee Duffield was named Section 4AA Kick Coach of the Year. Girls Volleyball coach Mary Byrne was named the MNVBCA State Coach of the Year for Class AAA. Many athletes were recognized as Central Lakes Conference Performers of the Week in their respective sport:
Kira Johnson and Addison Twa have both qualified for the MSHSL State Gymnastics Tournament. Kira won the All-Around Competition at the Section Meet, while Addison qualified on bars. The Girls Nordic Ski Team placed 2nd in the Conference Meet, 1st at the Section 8 Meet and competed at State. The Boys Nordic Ski Team took 3rd at the Conference Meet. The Girls Hockey Team took home the title of Central Lakes Conference Champions. The Girls Basketball Team also won the title of CLC Champions. Alexandria Area High School winners of the Triple A Award (Academics, Arts and Athletics) are Lydia Oldenkamp and Daniel Jackson. Each MSHSL region selects one male and one female from the high school winners to move on in the competition. Daniel Jackson is the Region 8AA male winner and will move on to compete in the State competition for a four-year, $1,000 scholarship. |

VI.A. ADOPT AMERICAN INDIAN PARENT ADVISORY COMMITTEE RESOLUTION

BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
Minnesota Statutes, section 124D.78 requires that all Minnesota school districts with ten or more American Indian students have an American Indian Parent Advisory Committee. The committee serves in an advisory role to the district. The school board must ensure that programs are planned, operated and evaluated in consultation with the committee. The district must complete the Resolution of concurrence/non-concurrence each school year. RECOMMENDATION: The administration recommends the board adopt the American Indian Parent Advisory Committee Resolution as presented. |
VI.B. APPROVE 2025 ESY SUMMER SCHOOL PROGRAMMING AND CALENDAR

VI.C. APPROVE EMPLOYMENT AGREEMENT

BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
Minnesota Statutes, section 123B.195 allows for a school board member to be newly employed or to continue employment with the school district within certain guidelines. In addition to those guidelines, the employment or extension of employment must receive majority approval from the school board. Administration is recommending the board employ board member Elizabeth Paul in the position of Paraprofessional at the Transition Center. RECOMMENDATION: The administration recommends the board approve the employment agreement. |
VI.D. ADOPT RESOLUTION REDUCING AND DISCONTINUING EDCUATIONAL PROGRAMS AND POSITIONS

The following page provides the resolution which the school board is required to adopt identifying the programs that may be reduced in the upcoming school year due to changes in student enrollment and/or availability of funding.
