BACKGROUND INFORMATION
Rick Sansted will share with the board the "206 Points of Pride." The persons being recognized this month are as follows: The following AAHS students earned the title of Central Lakes Conference Performer of the Week in their respective sport:
This fall activities season earned many student athletes Central Lakes Conference All-Conference Honors and Honorable Mention. Earning All-Conference Honors:
AA All-State Soccer Honors also went to Otto Anderson, Allie Haabala and Lydia Oldenkamp. Our Girls Cross Country Team placed 2nd at their Section Meet and went on to take 2nd place at the State Meet as well. Individually at the State Meet, Citori Halbe took 11th place, Quinn Hills 18th, Bobbi Nichols 29th, Kasey Soderholm 51st, Anna Korynta 55th, Izzy Nei 59th and Mila Warzecha 63rd. Girls Cross Country Coach, Travis Hochhalter, was named Section 8AA Girls Cross Country Coach of the Year, while Nikki Paradis was names Section 8AA Girls Cross Country Assistant Coach of the Year. The Volleyball Team won the 8AAA Section Championship, thereby earning a trip to the State Tournament, where they became the Class 3A State Champions for the first time in 25 years! Addie Rossum, Hadley Thul and Campbell Jenzen were selected to the Volleyball All-Tournament Team. The Football Team also became the Section 8AAAAA Champions, earning themselves a trip to the State Tournament. The Girls Swimming & Diving Team sent five swimmers to the State Meet: Hannah Hoff, Grace Urke, Cora Bumgarner, Rayna Holm and Addy Erickson. Grace Urke was also named Section Swimmer of the Year. Our Ag Mechanics Team (Lars Dropik, Noah Beulke, Josiah Opp and Nic Hiles) competed at the National FFA Convention, where they earned a gold ranking and placed 4th in the nation. Individually, Lars Dropik, Noah Beulke and Josiah Opp received a Gold ranking and Nic Hiles received a Silver ranking. Lars also placed 2nd as an individual competitor. Senior Evelyn Stockford was chosen to participate in the Central Lakes Conference Jazz Honor Band in Sartell. |

Personnel recommendations are made monthly. The conditional offers of employment are subject to successful completion of a criminal background check and I-9 Employment Eligibility Verification, and where applicable, the issuance of the required license. IV.E. ADOPT RESOLUTION TO ACCEPT DONATIONS AND GRANTS

IV.J. APPROVE SURROGATE PARENT APPOINTMENTS

BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
A school district has the responsibility to identify individuals who can be surrogate parents to children identified by staff as needing a surrogate parent. Once a student is identified as needing a surrogate parent, the school district needs to assign one within 30 days. The following individuals have been identified as those who can be surrogate parents to children if/when that need arises:
RECOMMENDATION: The administration recommends the board approve the appointment of the two parents’ names. |
IV.K. APPROVE AMERICAN INDIAN EDUCATION AID APPLICATION

BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
The American Indian Education Aid (AIEA) program provides per-pupil funding to districts that report an American Indian student count of 20 or more on their October 1 MARSS report. To participate in the program, districts must submit an application detailing how they will enhance the education and support of American Indian Pupils. RECOMMENDATION: The administration recommends that the board approve the American Indian Education Aid Application as presented. |

VI.A. ACCEPT WORLD'S BEST WORKFORCE REPORT SUMMARY

BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
Darcy Josephson will provide an overview of the 2023-2024 World’s Best Workforce Report Summary. Under Minnesota Statutes, section 120B.11, school districts are to develop a World’s Best Workforce Annual Report and report summary for each school year. RECOMMENDATION: The administration recommends the board accept the 2023-2024 World’s Best Workforce Report Summary as presented. |
VI.B. APPROVE FIRST READING OF 2025-2026 CURRICULUM AND PROGRAM MODIFICATIONS

BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
Darcy Josephson will provide an overview of the curriculum and program modifications being proposed at the Alexandria Area High School for the 2025-2026 school year. These modifications were developed and are being presented per district policy. The Curriculum/Policy Committee has reviewed and approved these changes. RECOMMENDATION: The administration recommends the board approve the first reading of modifications and course changes as presented. |
VI.C. ADOPT RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING COMBINED POLLING PLACES

BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
Amendments to Minnesota Statutes Section 205A.11 require school boards to annually designate, by resolution, any changes to combined polling places for stand-alone school district elections. The locations of these combined polling places have also been limited to those locations designated for use as a polling place by a county or a municipality. RECOMMENDATION: The administration recommends the board adopt the resolution combining polling places for multiple precincts and designating hours during which the polling places will remain open for voting for school district elections not held on the day of the statewide election. |
