Description:
BACKGROUND INFORMATION
Rick Sansted will share with the board the "206 Points of Pride." The persons being recognized this month are: Seniors Emma Reineke and Jacob Partington have been selected to represent Alexandria Area High School in the Triple A (Academics, Arts and Athletics) Award program. They will advance to section competition for the award and will be honored at the Section Triple A Recognition banquet at a time and place to be determined. DMS teacher Jennifer Mounsdon was selected to represent our region at the Minnesota Robotics Coaches Association, which is a subdivision of the Minnesota State High School Coaches Association. AAHS instructor Tom Ellison is Minnesota’s nominee for the 2021 NEA Foundation Education of Excellence award, which recognizes leadership in education and union work. He will be honored at a national virtual gala in February. |

VII.A. ADOPT RESOLUTION FOR REDUCTION IN EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS AND POSITIONS

The following page provides the resolution which the school board is required to adopt identifying the programs that may be reduced in the upcoming school year due to changes in student enrollment and/or availability of funding. VII.B. ADOPT AMERICAN INDIAN PARENT ADVISORY COMMITTEE RESOLUTION

BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
Minnesota Statutes, section 124D.78 requires that all Minnesota school districts with ten or more American Indian students have an American Indian Parent Advisory Committee. The committee serves in an advisory role to the district. The school board must ensure that programs are planned, operated and evaluated in consultation with the committee. The district must complete the Resolution of concurrence/non-concurrence each school year. RECOMMENDATION: The administration recommends the board adopt the American Indian Parent Advisory Committee Resolution as presented. |

VII.C. APPROVE ADVERTISING FOR REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS (RFP) - GROUP HEALTH INSURANCE

Due to the Health Insurance Transparency Act (HITA), the district is required to seek bids from a minimum of three health insurance carriers every two years. RECOMMENDATION: The administration recommends the board approve advertising for Request for Proposals (RFPs) for group health insurance beginning with the July 1, 2021 plan year. |
