Description:  As you may have already heard, FirstMerit Corp has agreed to acquire Citizens Republic in a stock deal valued at roughly $952 million. The acquisition is expected to close in the second quarter of 2013. The deal is pending regulatory approval and approval by shareholders of both companies. The move will create a contiguous Midwest banking franchise for FirstMerit, expanding its footprint into Michigan and Wisconsin and strengthening its presence in Northeast Ohio. Eventually, Citizens Republic locations will be rebranded as FirstMerit branches. At the present time, it is business as usual with Citizens and all of our contact people remain the same and we will continue to use the local branches. Description:  Below are headcount numbers for grades K-12 compared to the last three school years. The Board of Education will receive updated numbers each week until the fall membership count day (which is October 3^rd this year). Actual headcount numbers will continue to be adjusted as the schools follow up on attendance and other issues. These headcount numbers will need to be converted to Full Time Equivalency (FTE), which is the number the State uses to calculate our foundation allowance. The schools have a month after October 3rd to collect and report data that will allow us to convert these headcount numbers into FTE. The most common areas of adjustment are at the high school in the areas of attendance, reduced schedule and SCC/Academy students at the city school programs. The district headcount projection used for budget purposes is 4,794. As a reminder, Mackinaw Academy is not included in this comparison due to the nature of counting the students in those programs. Included in your packet today is the breakdown as reported by each building.

Description:  Heritage's 25th Annual Homecoming will be Friday, October 12, 2012.  The parade will set up and leave from Green Acres Plaza.  Celebrating the themes of "Under the Big Top," they hope to make this Silver Anniversary of Heritage the "Greatest Show on Earth."  Please plan to be at Green Acres at 4:00 p.m. for the parade; it starts at 4:30 p.m.
