4.2. 20-21 School Calendar Change
Presenter:  Erin R.
Description:  Attached is the assign A/B days on the district calendar.  Also there is a key for the amount of A/B days across timelines.  Below are our talking points on how we made decisions.  This outcome came from a work group which included:  Admin on each level, district staff and a teacher union rep.
Talking Points:
  • 1st priority: consistent schedule based on community input
  • 2nd priority: close to equal face to face days for both As and Bs
  • The small differences in the number of face to face days (3 day difference between A/B groups) was necessary to maintain consistent schedule for families across the school year
  • Staff that are shared across sites/ levels each admin team will work together with those particular employees to articulate schedules
  • Wednesday are WIN and PLC days; students are never in school
  • If in session:
    • Monday and Tuesday are A days
    • Thursday and Friday at B days
    • Building levels will determine daily structure to balance instructional time
  • All Late starts moved to PLC days on Wednesday- articulated on the calendar
  • Levels (MS, HS) will collaborate on developing 7 period day schedule
