8. Review of temporary codicil to Superintendents job description and duties to meet the COVID-19 emergency passed during the MISD Board of Trustees Special Session of March 25, 2020.
Description:
During the March 25, 20200 Special Session of the Mullin ISD Board of Trustees a motion was made and passed which allowed the Superintendent to make certain decisions regarding the operation of Mullin ISD to meet the necessities of the COVID-19 emergency. This motion included a requirement that the resolution be reviewed by the MISD Board of Trustees at the regular Board of Trustees meeting of May 18, 2020. Due to large number of items being taken up at the May 18, 2020 meeting the review of the motion was passed over. It is requested that the "COVID-19" resolution regarding the powers and duties of the Superintendent of MISD be review during the June, 2020 regular meeting of the MISD Board of Trustees to determine the termination or continuation of the resolution.

9. Discuss and take action on House Bill 3834 Compliance to complete a certified cybersecurity training program.

Description:
House Bill 3834 from the 2019 Legislative Session requires local government employees and elected officials (including school district employees who have access to a district computer system or database and all board members) to complete a certified cybersecurity training program by June 14, 2020. The Texas Department of Information Resources (DIR) was required to certify at least five cybersecurity training programs, and the school district employees and board members must choose one to be completed by the June 14 deadline
After the required training is completed by school district employees who have access to district computer systems or databases and by all school board members, the District must certify compliance with the training requirements by June 15, 2020. Districts may use the Cybersecurity Training Certification for Local Governments form to certify compliance. District policies addressing these requirements can be found at Board Policy CQB (Legal) and (Local). |

11. Discuss and take action to approve the school closure waiver due to COVID-19 and the attestation statement to be submitted by June 18, 2020.

Description:
If an LEA has closed school due to COVID-19, the agency will provide missed school day waivers for closed days with the requirement that the LEA provide educational supports for the off-campus education of all students. The waivers will be granted as long as the district commits to supporting students' instructional while absent from school grounds. This attestation will be required to be submitted with the waiver.

Description:
Pursuant to Texas Government Code Sections 551.071, to consult with District's attorney, in person or by phone, on a matter in which the duty of the attorney to the District under the Texas Disciplinary Rules of Professional Conduct of the State Bar of Texas clearly conflicts with Chapter 551 of the Texas Local Government Code.
Pursuant to Texas Government Code Sections 551.074 for the purpose of considering the appointment, employment, evaluation, reassignment, duties, discipline, or dismissal of a public officer, employee, or to hear complaints or charges against a public officer or employee. |
