Regional events were held from October-December 6, 2022 with total attendance at over 700 high school Educators Rising students. These events are a collaboration between our high school Educators Rising chapters and our EPPs and collegiate Educators Rising chapters. The applicant data from this information is used to compile the Applicant Flow Chart forms for the Affirmative Action Report, which demonstrates the composition of applicants through the selecting, hiring, promoting and terminating process. The information is needed to measure the effectiveness of the agency's recruitment, hiring and promotion efforts and is in conformity with federal government guidelines, which require the agency to compile statistical information about applicants for employment.

VI.3. Consideration of Report on Waivers to School Districts for Teachers Teaching Out of Area for Longer than Thirty (30) Days, Ark. Code Ann. §6-17-309

Description:
Arkansas Code Annotated §6-17-309 requires local school districts to secure a waiver when classrooms are staffed with unlicensed teachers for longer than 30 days. Requests were received from 36 school districts for a total of 62 waivers. There were also requests for long-term substitutes from 60 school districts requesting a total of 143 waivers for long-term substitutes. These requests have been reviewed, were either approved or denied by Department staff, and are consistent with program guidelines.

The Professional Licensure Standards Board requests the State Board of Education order a permanent revocation of the educator’s license.

Cabot School District is requesting a waiver of Standard 1-A.5 Class Size for the 2022-2023 school year for its fifth and sixth-grade Art and Music classes. The district would exceed the maximum number allowed by Standard in Cabot Middle School by 5 students. The district is compensating teachers for the overage.

VII.1.b. Consideration of South Conway County School District Standards for Accreditation Waiver
