III.1. Charter Renewal - The Excel Center
Presenter:  Tim Johnston, Director DESE Charter Unit
Description:  The Excel Center:
The district is requesting:
  • Renewal of the charter for a five (5) year period.
  • The campus serves adults aged 19 and over completing grades 9-12.
  • The current enrollment cap is 1,050 students.
  • The charter will continue to follow an adult education model.
III.2. Charter Renewal - River Valley Virtual Academy (RVVA)

Description:  River Valley Virtual Academy:
The district is requesting:
  • Renewal of the charter for a five (5) year period.
  • The campus serves grades K-12.
  • The current enrollment cap is 1,000 students.
  • The charter will continue to follow a virtual-only education model.

  • Renewal of the charter for a five (5) year period.
  • The campus serves grades P-12.
  • The current enrollment cap is 2,419 students.
  • The charter will continue to follow a traditional education model.

IV.1.a. Charter Renewal - Exalt

Description:  Exalt Academy of Southwest Little Rock

Description:  Haas Hall Academy:
The district is requesting:
  • Renewal of the charter for a 5 (five) year period.
  • The charter serves grades 7-12
  • The current enrollment cap is 2,000 students.
  • The charter will continue to follow a college prep education model.
  • The charter is requesting approval to add an additional campus in Fort Smith, serving grades 7-12 with an enrollment cap of 500 students.
  • If the Fort Smith campus is approved, the charter is requesting a cap increase of 500 students, resulting in a district enrollment cap of 2,500 students.

 
V. 2022 Calendar Approval
