Principal Sara Edwards would like to recognize Kaylee Cooke for her quick thinking and courageous actions this past February. When a student began choking, Kaylee immediately stepped in and performed the Heimlich maneuver, ultimately saving the student’s life. Her calm presence, swift response, and care for our students reflect the very best of who we are as a school community.

Nikki Johnson, Board Treasurer, will give recommendation for treasurer’s report subject to audit. The Board Treasurer and Director of Finance and Operations meet once a month to review the previous month’s financial activity. XIII.A. Gifts and Donations

Therefore the Director of Finance and Operations recommends the following resolution:
Minnesota Statues 12B.02, Subd. 6 provides: "The board may receive, for the benefit of the district, bequests, donations, or gifts for any proper purpose and apply the same to the purpose designated. In that behalf, the board may act as trustee of any trust created for the benefit of the district, or for the benefit of pupils thereof, including trusts created to provide pupils of the district with advanced education after completion of high school, in the advancement of education."; and
School Board Policy 706 establishes guidelines for the acceptance of gifts/donations to the District; and Minnesota Statute 465.03 provides: "Any city, county, school district or town may accept a grant or devise of real or personal property and maintain such property for the benefit of its citizens in accordance with the terms prescribed by the donor. Nothing herein shall authorize such acceptance or use for religious or sectarian purposes. Every such acceptance shall be by resolution of the governing body adopted by a two-thirds majority of its members, expressing such terms in full."; and Every such acceptance shall be by resolution of the governing body adopted by a two-thirds majority of its members, expressing such terms in full; THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the School Board of Cambridge-Isanti Schools, ISD 911 accept with appreciation the following gifts/donations and permit their use as designated by the donor(s).

XIII.B. Preliminary Capital and LTFM Budgets

Description:
The operating capital and long term facilities maintenance (LTFM) restricted revenue sources are equalized revenue, meaning the revenue we receive is from both state aid and property tax levy. Both are calculated by factors such as building age and funding per pupil. The operating capital funding is restricted (Minn. Stat. §123C.10) to uses such as building repairs, equipment, technology, vehicles, etc. The LTFM funding is restricted (Minn. Stat. § 123B.595) to uses related to maintenance or replacing existing facility items such as roofing, painting, flooring, electrical, plumbing, etc.

XIII.C. Non-Renewing Probationary Teaching Contracts Resolution

Description:
WHEREAS, Minnesota Statutes section 122A.40, subdivision 5, states that the first three consecutive years of a teacher’s first teaching experience in Minnesota in a single district is deemed to be a probationary period of employment, and that the probationary period in each district in which the teacher is thereafter employed is one year; and
WHEREAS, Minnesota Statutes section 122A.40, subdivision 5, further states that any annual contract with a probationary teacher may or may not be renewed as the school board shall see fit, provided that the board gives the teacher written notice of the nonrenewal before July 1; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the School Board of Independent School District No. 911 as follows: 1. Pursuant to Minnesota Statutes section 122A.40, subdivision 5, the School Board hereby declines to renew the annual teaching contract of the following probationary teacher(s) effective at the end of this school year: Ashley Wappel, Ava Lundberg, Brandon Olson, Kari Meyer, Ellie Hoglund 2. As a result of this Resolution, the District’s employment relationship with the above-named probationary teacher(s) will terminate effective June 30, 2025. 3. The School Board has reviewed and hereby approves the written notice of nonrenewal for each affected teachers. The notice to each affected teachers states the reasons for the non-renewal. The School Board Chair is directed to sign the written notice(s) on behalf of the School Board. The reasons for non-renewal are classified as private personnel data under the Minnesota Government Data Practices Act unless the non-renewal represents the final disposition of disciplinary action. 4. The Superintendent, or a designee, is directed to serve the affected teacher(s) with a copy of this Resolution and the approved written notice for that teacher before July 1. If possible, the notice(s) should be hand-delivered.
