2.4. 2017/18 Paper Bid
Description:  Bids were requested and sent to eight (8) vendors for multi-purpose 8-1/2 x 11 copy paper for Midland Public Schools. Six (6) vendors responded with the results indicated on the bid tabulation sheet. It is recommended purchasing the paper from low bidder, Verifiv, for a total delivered  price of $53,373.60.
2.5. Approval of the payment of the school system's bills for the month of June 2017, as listed in the check registers prepared by Ms. Holderby in the amount of $10,793,897 is recommended. The distribution of obligations by fund is included in the documentation.

3.2. 2017 Scholarships Presented to MPS Students (Sharrow)
Description:  2017 Midland Public Schools' students were offered more than $14.7 million in scholarships.  A listing of some local scholarships is included in your Board packet and will be posted on the District website.

6. HUMAN RESOURCES

6.1. The Board and Staff extend their deepest sympathy to the families of:
<> Dr. David Kellom, who passed away on June 21, 2017. Dr. Kellom was an MPS Board of Education member for 12 years (1973-1985). He served as President, Secretary and Trustee during his time on the MPS Board.
<> Mrs. Dorothy Retzloff, who passed away on July 19, 2017. Mrs. Retzloff was a Bus Driver in the Transportation Department for 16 years, retiring in 1984.
<> Mrs. Norma Schneider, who passed away on July 30, 2017. Mrs. Schneider worked for MPS for 18 years as an Elementary Teacher at Plymouth Elementary and an Administrative Assistant at Northeast Intermediate School, retiring in 1979.
<>Mr. Stephen Sears, who passed away on July 28, 2017. Mr. Sears was a Bus Driver in the Transportation Department for six years retiring in 2011.
<> Mrs. Florence Drottar, who passed away on August 5, 2017. Mrs. Drottar was a first and third grade teacher at Plymouth Elementary School for 32 years, retiring in 1988.
