4.A.1. District Improvement Plan: Renee Smith-Faulkner, Associate Superintendent, has provided a link to the 2017-2018 District Improvement Plan. The district plan was created with input from the Teaching, Learning, and Innovation Team.

4.A.2. A-F Accountability System: A presentation on the third domain of the new A-F Accountability System will be presented by Renee Smith-Faulkner.

4.A.3. New Summer Programs and Partnerships: Renee Smith-Faulkner, Associate Superintendent will present new summer programs and partnerships offered for students.

5.A.1. Review Budget Priorities: Initial budget planning for 2018-2019 has begun. Preliminary revenue projections and budget allocations have been determined.

5.B.1. Continuation review of Board Policy Audit Review of Local Policies: Presented for discussion is the revised BQA (LOCAL), BQB (LOCAL), CS (LOCAL), DEC (LOCAL), DN (LOCAL) and EG (LOCAL) policies. Action Item: April 2, 2018

5.C. Consider All Matters related to Student Services/Auxiliary Services, including but not limited to reports, finances, and/or proposals.

5.C.1. New Extracurricular Organizations: Recommendation of adding boys' and girls' golf for UIL competition (varsity & junior varsity). CISD campus principals report no new extracurricular organizations for the 2018-19 school year. Action Item on 4/2/18.

5.D. Discussion of Construction Manager at Risk (CMAR) Buford-Thompson Construction for Irma Marsh Middle School Expansion. The Construction Manager at Risk (CMAR) is a delivery method which entails a commitment by the Construction Manager (CM) to deliver the project within a Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP) which is based on the construction documents and specifications at the time of the GMP plus any reasonably inferred items or tasks.

10.A. Consider Approval of Board Minutes from February 12, 2018, for a Regular Meeting.

10.B. Consider Approval of the Expenditure Report for the month of February 2018: The report lists all checks written for the month of February 2018.

11. ACTION ITEMS

11.A. Consider All Matters related to Financial, including but not limited to reports, finances, and/or proposals.
|
|
11.A.1. Consider Approval of the Budget Amendment: Displays any necessary budget amendments that should be made due to spending patterns. By law, the District may not exceed the budget amount within “Function” code without prior approval of the Board. The proposed budget amendment increases both revenue and expenses equally so the budget reflects the most accurate information for the fiscal year to date. The amendment is a balanced amendment without funds being transferred from fund balance.

11.A.2. Consider Approval of the Instructional Materials Allotment and TEKS Certification for 2018-2019. Districts and open-enrollment charter schools are required to certify annually to the State Board of Education and the commissioner that, for each subject in the required curriculum other than physical education, students have access to instructional materials that cover all of the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills. Districts and open-enrollment charter schools will be unable to order 2018-2019 instructional materials through EMAT until the certification has been received by the Texas Education Agency.

11.B. Consider All Matters Incident and/or related to Public Officers and Employees, including but not limited to, Contracts Resignations, Hiring, Assignments, Allocations, and Salaries.

11.B.1. Consider Approval of New Hire Contract Recommendation: There are no contract recommendations for this meeting as of February 26, 2018.

11.B.2. Consider Approval of Renewals, Proposed Nonrenewals, No Actions and Terminations: The Superintendent of Schools will present recommendations to the Board of Education for Cabinet renewals, proposed nonrenewals, and no actions of professional employee contracts.
|

Consider Approval of the cancellation of the School Board Election: Since we will not need to conduct an election on May 5th and have already called for one to be held, it is necessary for us to cancel the same election. "The Castleberry Independent School District Board of Education hereby cancels the election scheduled to be held on May 5, 2018 in accordance with Section 2.053(a) of the Texas Election Code. Dewey Taliaferro, School Board Place 3; and Doug Lee, School Board Place 4; have been certified as unopposed and are hereby elected."

12.A.1. Castleberry ISD will advertise RFP# 18-002 to solicit responses from third party benefit administrators to provide employee benefit options that meet the needs of CISD.

12.D.2. Summer School Program Offerings: Summer school programs and enrichment opportunities for CISD students in grades K-12 will be offered to students over the summer of 2018. Programs will include K-8 academic remediation and advancement, 5th and 8th Grade SSI, EOC review, and 9-12 credit recovery will be held at Castleberry Elementary and CHS.
